Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 　　处死朱由桦的当天，朱由桦离奇失踪，梅儿和兰心都因此受到责罚。兰心不顾太子反对，执意要将朱由桦送还给三皇子，却发现马车上的孩子竟然不翼而飞。兰心和太子感情出现嫌隙，梅儿和金碧瑶使出浑身解数争得太子宠爱。太子和万历等人到郊外狩猎，有人暗杀太子，梅儿为太子挡下一箭，生命垂危，太子深受感动，认为欠梅儿太多。上官鸿业调查太子行刺事件，却发现幕后的真凶并不是众人猜想的三皇子，而是梅儿。梅儿册封当天，郑贵妃揭出了梅儿乃娼妓之女的秘密，让梅儿不能受封。郑贵妃趁势发动自己的亲信弹劾上官鸿业，兰心救父心切，却误会太子，两人再次不欢而散。失踪多日的朱由桦突然出现在兰心房中，将朱由桦放入篮子中带入宫去，却被梅儿换成了旋儿，兰心带“朱由桦，”进宫，巧遇为上官鸿业来求情的太子，太子再次产生了误会。在王恭妃和郑贵妃的逼迫下，太子提剑杀死了璇儿 ，等知道时璇儿已经没有了呼吸。兰心伤心欲绝。兰心带幸存的朱由桦离去，太子策马追去，却寻不见踪影了。皇上以太子妃一位不可久缺为由，册封大学士王中泽之女王氏为太子妃。
